What Has Happened Until Now
Music lovers have been on a quest to find the ultimate speaker connection for many years. A system can only be as good as the cables connecting the components within it, even if these components themselves are all of very high quality.
The perfect cable passes on exactly all the qualities of the system to the loudspeaker without any alterations, which would invariably distract from the musical experience. Sonically, a cable should be completely transparent.

Unfortunately, most of the cables available today deliberately impose their own sonic signature rather than striving for a true transparent connection. This signature then acts as a "tone-control", masking the true potential of the system or, in the best case, serves to mask the symptoms of an underlying problem in the system.

A sheer endless variety of various types of cables are available but the reality is that the main technical differences are often limited to insignificant issues. OCOS research demonstrated that the color of the insulation, additional shielding or extravagant plugs and fittings don't make significant contributions. Often the claims behind the promised sonic nirvana are unknown or even in direct conflict with proven science.

The OCOS Idea
OCOS is a practical implementation of solid and scientific principles, the direct result of years of scientific and acoustic research. The OCOS engineers' research showed that ever more mysterious materials, complicated winding technologies or exotic shielding didn't actually improve transparency but that such esoteric construction and expensive materials do push up the price.
Instead of aiding transparency, many such constructions act as a "sonic resistor".

The OCOS Advantage: Liberation of Sound
Sound neutrality: Because of the typical and unique OCOS physical parameters (see below), OCOS cable behaves as an integrated component of the speaker itself. It is not a component in its own right but simply a completely transparent medium, which transports the music signal. OCOS doesn't alter or remove the symptoms of a physical mismatch; instead it removes the mismatch itself.

The sound is completely transparent, neutral and balanced without harshness, edginess or nervousness. Through its neutrality across the entire frequency spectrum, a recording will be rendered accurately and realistically with its resolution and spacious imaging fully intact.

Flexible: By virtue of the excellent characteristics, different lengths of cable within the same system don't lead to the otherwise usual performance differences. Even with lengths up to 100 meters the impedance retains its constant value and the sound remains neutral and balanced.

This is why within the same system different lengths of cable can be used: e.g.: the cable for the right speaker can be shorter than that for the left speaker. This makes OCOS more suitable than any other speaker cable for multi-channel and Home Theatre systems. From a performance point of view, the cables for the rear speakers are identical to the front - the sound quality remains at the same high level for all speakers, even with lengthy cables to the surround speakers.

Resistance is Futile!
The secret behind OCOS’s unique traits is firmly lodged in solid engineering and science. In keeping with the fundamentals of HF-technology the impedance of any conductor will rise dramatically in the bass region (how much depends on its length and diameter of conductive material) but inevitably the result means a decrease in sound quality.

If the cable's impedance is outside of the loudspeaker's impedance range, the occurring miss-match in the low frequency region will affect the signal throughout the entire frequency spectrum. Conventional cables can reach an impedance of up to one thousand-fold of the speaker's impedance with the end-result being an uneven performance.

OCOS is the first and only loudspeaker cable with absolute constant impedance throughout the entire frequency range, matching that of a normal loudspeaker. The end result being that the amplifier "sees" the speakers directly, as if there is no cable i.e. a truly transparent cable!

The cable's structure includes, besides highly purified copper, a composite material with graphite, which determines its special physical properties: the OCOS insulation is deliberately conductive within exact defined limits. This, and its special manufacturing process in Switzerland, is patented. No other loudspeaker cable can replicate the special physical attributes of OCOS. OCOS is unique.

OCOS Facts
The unique OCOS cable is available in matt-black, a consequence of the material it is made from. It is substantially less obtrusive than many so-called High-End cables, discrete even in comparison and is hardly visible when strewn across the floor in the open.

Thanks to the coaxial construction, OCOS cables have a relatively small outer diameter, making the cable easy to manage and to hide it out-of-sight, behind wall plinths, for example.
