Furthering the design principles of the RM-9.1, the RM-10 marks Pro-Ject's first entrance into high-end state-of-the-art analog reproduction. A platter with double the mass of the RM-9.1's ensures accurate speed control with deep and extended bass response. This mammoth dual-layer acrylic platter is mated to a plinth made from ultra-dense MDF filled with metal dust and sealed with a steel plate. This additional weight focuses the combined mass of the platter and plinth for superior vibration rejection and extraordinary mechanical stability. The platter itself is suspended above the plinth by an ingenious magnetic repulsion system using a pair of opposing magnets to “lift” the platter, reducing bearing friction and mechanical noise to a near zero level. The 10” carbon fiber weave tonearm with integrated headshell, provides an incredible rigidity-to-weight ratio. Swiss-built bearings and tempered steel gimbals can extract the most from any high-performance phono cartridge. Precision adjustment of tonearm height, azimuth and anti-skating is easily accomplished by the user. A damped tonearm lift provides accurate cueing and detachable chassis mount RCA connectors facilitate easy interconnect upgrade. A brass record clamp and “Ground it Deluxe” isolation base is supplied.
TURNTABLE FEATURES
Quiet running AC motor with two-step acryl pulley and belt drive system for accurate and stable platter rotation.
Medium density fiber wood plinth rests on three height adjustable Sorbothane damped aluminum cones for exceptional mechanical isolation.
Motor is encased in a separate metal housing to eliminate vibration transmission and avoid potential electro-mechanical interference.
Magnetic support of the inverted stainless steel bearing reduces friction further lowering noise and vibration.
Metal granulate filled metal plate optimizes the center of gravity and damps the main bearing for extended low bass response.
Massive 12lb. (5.4kg) sandwich construction acrylic platter virtually eliminated unwanted resonances.
TONEARM
FEATURES
Headshell and armtube are formed from a single piece of carbon fiber to increase
rigidity and avoid standing wave reflections. Headshell allows for easy adjustment
of needle azimuth.
The 10” conical armtube reduces tracking error and distortion and toe-in
error.
A rigid tonearm base allows for accurate adjustment of VTA (vertical tracking
angle).
A silicone-damped armlift provides smooth and accurate cueing.
Internal wiring is high-purity copper from cartridge leads to gold-plated RCA
phono jacks.
