REL Acoustics Ltd., of Bridgend, Wales and SUMIKO are pleased to announce the
new R-SERIES Sub-Bass Systems. Consisting of three models that build upon the
well-established REL strengths and improve upon their predecessors’ performance
in every way. The first thing that strikes one upon first sighting of the R-SERIES
is the physical beauty of these designs. Finished in no fewer than eight coats
of hand-rubbed piano black lacquer, the finish glistens and gleams; catching light
in thousands of reflective points and planes. Details begin to emerge; notice
the enclosure’s elegant horizontal strakes that are a design signature of
the R-SERIES. Look carefully and you’ll see how even the machined aluminum
feet reinforce this theme with tiny machined lines on the surface.
Above all, REL Sub-Bass Systems are about extraordinary performance. In this case,
all-new drivers carry the performance envelope even higher with slam and airiness
that improve upon previous models substantially. The sheer output levels of which
they are capable have increased markedly, easily keeping pace with performance
initiatives in main speakers. Additionally, REL are implementing new generation
Class D power amplifiers, as this technology has finally attained a level of sonic
performance worthy of the REL name. Each of the new models has had power output
increased handily for improved control and extension.
