Sonus
faber was born in 1983, the brainchild of Franco Serblin,
a man of remarkable taste who remains the chief designer
and the creative force behind the company. From modest
beginnings, Sonus faber has grown to become arguably
the most dominant design idiom in audio today. Look
no further than any of dozens of different compact systems
to see that Sonus fabers design influence extends
far beyond the borders of the high end. The name Sonus
faber is derived from Latin and means "handcrafted sound,"
a perfectly apt description of the products.
Philosophy: Sonus fabers are based upon the three cornerstones of speaker design: (1) driver development, (2) crossover theory and (3) cabinet design.
